Centro de Investigación en Computación Sostenible

Centro de Investigación en Computación Sostenible

It was created in June 2020. Its axis is to identify, promote and provide computational solutions to problems related to the balance of environmental, economic and social needs for a sustainable development and future. Within its thematic axes, it develops the following research lines: ‘Analytics & Decision Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence’. As its main infrastructure, COMPSUST has an HPC cluster, called Khipu, dedicated to high performance computing.

Centro de Investigación en Bioingeniería

Centro de Investigación en Bioingeniería

Bioengineering research at UTEC focuses on three key areas:

Tissue Engineering: Development of nanoparticles chemically linked to peptides, produced by stem cells to improve the regeneration of damaged tissues.

Microfabrication of Microfluidic Devices: Projects related to in situ detection of infectious diseases such as malaria, methods for rapid detection of drug-resistant bacteria and devices to detect circulating tumor cells.

Synthetic Biology: Development of a robotic fish that detects signals of microorganisms in real-time, through a bacteria capable of detecting the presence of arsenic in water.

Centro de Investigación y Conservación del Patrimonio

Centro de Investigación y Conservación del Patrimonio

While science and humanities studies unveil the effects of deterioration, engineering offers responsible technological solutions to preserve the country’s heritage. Focus on prevention and conservation of the Peruvian cultural heritage, its main research areas involve:

– Monuments, Landscape, and Sustainability.

– Characterization and Diagnosis of Materials.

– Risk Assessment and Management.

Centro de Impacto y Responsabilidad Social

Centro de Impacto y Responsabilidad Social

Science, technology, and engineering must consider the social and cultural context in which they are developed. The problems they address are a part of social issues, the methods they use are carried out in a cultural context and the results they yield have a human and social impact. CIRSO aims to articulate the social component to assess the interaction between research projects and the community. Thes main objective is to disseminate and encourage the use of scientific knowledge to society and its individuals.
